Vanilla Ice - Discography (1989- [VERIFIED]

1989 is a key year for Vanilla. It was the year of the first solo album and the first album not released on one of those phobic labels Rhino. Ice was freed and allowed to make it on his own terms. His first album was '157 pounds of fun' and a success but it was a blunt approach with many of the same issues that he would overcome on his second album 'Ice Ice Baby'. His production skills had improved and he had many of the hits that would become a trademark of his reputation, I don't Need That "Pussy" and "Gotta Get the Show On The Road" featuring Fabulous. Ice would also be one of the first DJs to take advantage of video technology and had a great combo with the Mutant Makers at the time. Ice would kick off his second phase and be remembered for his work in the late '90s and early to mid 00's. Verdict: He was definitely a pioneer and probably set the stage for all future DJs who would later be taking to technology.

A little heavy to start and the fade-in is in time to his guitar but not quite sync'd. The bass line though is in sync and funky cool. He also works in the vocals in a slight falsetto but it is as funky cool as the rest of the song.

This is a song that the crowd will want to bounce to. This is followed up with another screamer, 'Fuckin Up the Funk'. Next is an uptempo track with some play with the vocals, 'Let's go Dance'. Ice returns with 'Funky Cold Medina' and it has the intensity starting with the intro in the same vein as "I Got It Goin' On" with the crowd joining in. "Ice Ice Bible" has a theological perspective and is the only track that isn't up tempo. The crowd seems to enjoy the track but it is only a short interlude.
